Designing an operational model for implementing resistance economics in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences hospitals

Abstract: Background and Purpose: The term resistance economy was first introduced by Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, which includes components. It seems that using resistance economy is associated with beneficial effects on the health sector. this study is based on leadership guidelines for conducting studies on resistance economics focused on economic problems and oppressive sanctions that have challenged the management of hospitals to design an operational model for implementing resistance economics in the shiraz medical university hospitals. Methods :This study is a combined research that was conducted in several stages. Our research population consisted of 20 professors, officials, familiar and experienced managers and experts aware of the economic issues of hospitals affiliated to shiraz University of Medical Sciences. Targeted sampling method and snowball technique were used. In the first stage, the study was performed by analyzing the current situation and conducting interviews. In the second stage, with the help of interview output, using the Delphi technique bared on questionnaire, and MAXQDA and SPSS software were used to analyze the data. Results: Based on the content analysis of specialized interviews and review of the current situation, 34 indicators in 6 area(management structure, human resources, cost management, financing, supply chain, scientific and research) were identified. After performing three rounds of Delphi, 25 components with a score above 0.7 were confirmed. The criteria were then accepted using confirmatory factor analysis. Finally, in the structural equation model, the factor load of all the criteria greater than 0.3 and also their related t-statistic were obtained above 1.96 and the proposed model was confirmed. Conclusion : In order to implement resistance economics in hospitals, the component of management structure, human resources, cost management, financing, supply chain, scientific and research have priority, respectively. The components identified in this study can be a guide for policy makers and managers to overcome the economic problems of hospitals.
